Where it began

A farm, a lost sale, and a community

The organisation grew out of a working farm at Athi River, Machakos County. When a buyer walked away from an order at harvest, founder Noah Nasiali was left with 75,000 cabbages and nowhere to sell them. Looking for buyers meant looking for other farmers - and the questions farmers asked each other became a Facebook group, the Africa Farmers Club, and eventually AFarmers.
