How AFarmers collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we are
AFarmers - home of the Africa Farmers Club and AFarmers Media - is the data controller for the information you give us through this website. You can reach us at info@africafarmers.org or +254 700 293 031, Nairobi, Kenya.
What we collect
- Partner and contact enquiries: your name, organisation, role, work email, phone number, the service you are interested in and your message.
- Farmer registrations: your name, phone number, county, main crops or livestock and farm size.
- Technical data: standard server logs (pages requested, browser type) used to keep the site secure and working.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss the service you asked about.
- To contact farmers about Club activities, visits and training in their county.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
Every form asks for your consent before you submit, and states its purpose at the point of collection.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and registration records are kept for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted unless an ongoing engagement requires us to keep them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with the AFarmers team members handling your enquiry, and with service providers who help us run the site under confidentiality obligations.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Contact us at info@africafarmers.org to make a request. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
